ILCHV’s Disability Awareness Training provides a cross-disability, culturally competent framework for understanding the disability community. This peer-led model includes topics such as disability etiquette, policy and laws that impact people with disabilities, specific disability or sensory disorder information, assistive technology and Civil Rights and the Independent Living movement. Training can be tailored to suit various groups including employers, staff at residences, hospitals and schools or other providers looking to learn about the disability community. With a wealth of knowledge, our staff have many decades of lived experience to help create a more complete perspective of disability.
